Burn Kurkure and you can see the plastic melting. Say no to Kurkure". All these allegations are totally baseless. Kurkure is a healthy snack and made of edible ingredients. Following are some of the questions on Kurkure that will clear any doubts you have on Kurkure:
Q) Is Kurkure safe for consumption?
A) Kurkure is a safe and a healthy snack. Kurkure is not harmful as it is cooked in Rice Bran Oil. The important fact about the Rice Bran Oil is that it is naturally high in the good fats including the MUFA and PUFA and low in saturated fats. Saturated fats are the ones to watch out for as they are responsible for increase in blood cholesterol levels.
Q) The recent discussions about Kurkure containing plastics is it true?
A) These discussions which says that Kurkure contains plastic. If you burn Kurkure, you can see plastic melting is all wrong. There is no plastic in Kurkure. Kurkure is a new age Namkeen that is made of edible ingredients (please see my previous posts for the details regarding the ingredients in Kurkure) which we use in our kitchen to prepare edible dishes.
Q) Is there any truth in the statement that if you burn Kurkure, Kurkure burns due to the high percentage of corn starch in it?
A) There is no truth in that statement. Kurkure is manufactured in a process that is so safe that the same process s now being used in the manufacture of baby foods.
